Police deal is a fair cop

COUNCIL-funded police teams are set to pound the beat around East Lothian after the local authority signed a £427,500 agreement with Lothian and Borders Police.

Chief Superintendent Mark Williams said the funding would help the police in “dealing with those issues that matter most to local people”.

Councillor Stuart Currie said it was a “big step forward for us and the police in tackling the scourge of antisocial behaviour in East Lothian”.
