Police Easter cards come with warning

POLICE are sending Easter greetings cards to hundreds of people in the Capital wanted on outstanding warrants to urge them to hand themselves in.

Members of the public in west Edinburgh will receive the cards sent by the warrants team at Wester Hailes police station.

About 350 people are being asked to get in touch with their local policing team as soon as possible or face further police action.

Sergeant Steve Adam urged those people to come forward and said: “We have previously had great success when issuing a festive message asking people to settle their warrants and we are confident the majority of those who receive a card this time will also make contact.

“Officers in the west of Edinburgh will follow up these Easter messages and anyone who does not respond may find themselves being arrested.”
