Police helicopter and fire crews rescue two youngsters trapped at Roslin Glen after major search

The pair have been safely rescued.

Two youths have been safely rescued after a large-scale search at Roslin Glen in Midlothian.

Emergency services were called around 5pm yesterday after a young man and woman got into difficulty.

A police helicopter used searchlights and heat-seeking cameras to locate the pair and guide rescue teams towards them.

Two water rescue teams and a specialist rope rescue crew then brought them to a place of safety.

Both were then handed to the Ambulance Service.

Fire crews then made sure the area was made safe before leaving the scene.
