Police hunt masked knifeman after thefts

Police are hunting a thug after a spate of armed robberies and attempted robberies by a masked knife man in the Fountainbridge area.

The first incident happened around 6.30am on Monday in the Telfer Subway, where a 21-year-old man was threatened by a man with a knife who demanding his possessions.

An hour later a 32-year-old woman was working alone in the Sandher and Sons newsagent on Dundee Terrace when a man entered with a knife and robbed the store of cash and cigarettes.

Yesterday an 18-year-old man was working in the Caledonian Newsagent on Dalry Road when a man holding a knife ran into the store and threatened two men who were shopping, but left empty handed.

And a short time later, a 52-year-old man was robbed on Caledonian Crescent.

The suspect is white, between 5ft 9ins and 5ft 11ins and slim. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark top, dark gloves and had a scarf over his face.
