POLICE will be offering safety advice to travellers passing through Edinburgh Airport today including tips on how to avoiding being a victim of crime.

The Safer Travel Day will see two stalls set up in the terminal where officers and airport staff will hand out leaflets and be available to answer questions on crime prevention. Similar events are being held at Aberdeen, Glasgow and Prestwick airports.

Sergeant Stevie Amabile, who is based at Edinburgh Airport, said: “We are always looking for different ways to engage with the public and staff at Edinburgh Airport, and this event is another opportunity to raise awareness of the security issues when travelling by air.”
