Police recover stolen jewellery thanks to website

A police inquiry into website Borro.com for selling stolen goods saw officers from Lothian and Borders Police search and recovery team seize the jewellery.

The goods are linked to housebreakings from across the city in recent months, and detectives are following a positive line of inquiry to identify other individuals believed to be involved. A 24-year-old was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday to face charges of theft and reset in connection with the incidents.

Detective Inspector George Thomson said: “Our inquiries into the use of the Borro.com site by criminals resulted in the recovery of a large quantity of high-value jewellery, which we will now return to their rightful owners.

“The Borro.com team were immensely helpful. I would like to thank them.”
