Police swoops see two fined for heroin possession

TWO people have been convicted of possessing heroin following intelligence-led swoops by police.

Gillian Marshall, 35, was caught with two wraps of the class A drug on January 18.

Prosecutor Katie Hart said police found the heroin at a house in Livingston. The accused admitted that the packages, estimated to be worth £50, were for her own personal use.

Marshall, who said she’d had a long-standing drug problem, pleaded guilty to possession and was fined £300.

In a separate case, Thomas Fleming, 48, from Broxburn, admitted having £20 worth of heroin.

Ms Hart said officers were watching a house in Bathgate, West Lothian, after a tip-off.

They watched as Fleming was handed something then got into his car and drove off.

When they stopped Fleming he admitted he had heroin. The heroin weighed two grams. He was fined £200.
