Police investigating the death of a pedestrian hit by a car want to speak to two drivers in the area at the time.

John Carrigan, 54, suffered serious head injuries after he was struck by a blue Toyota MR2 in Corstorphine High Street on February 7.

Now police are keen to trace the drivers of two cars heading east along the High Street at the time.

The first car is a silver or grey Rover 75. Police said it had stopped behind queuing traffic at St Mary’s Park before possibly turning into the Tesco store. The second vehicle is a red Mini with a white roof and white mirrors which is thought to have stopped in traffic near where the collision happened.

A force spokesman said: “The drivers of these cars may have valuable information that can assist with our inquiries.”
