A COUNCILLOR has been reported to standards watchdogs for allegedly describing the SNP as “fascists”.
West Lothian Labour member Angela Moohan has denied making the comment at a council meeting earlier this week. But SNP group leader Peter Johnston said it was “crystal clear” what the Livingston North councillor had said.
In a letter to her, he said: “My colleagues and I are absolutely clear that your comments are untrue, unfounded and unacceptable and way beyond even robust political debate.”
He said all 14 SNP councillors present at the meeting had signed the letter of complaint to the standards commissioner.
Cllr Moohan said the allegation was “typical of the personal attacks from the SNP on people who speak up against separatism”.
