The group is made up of local resudents who volunteer their time and recent campaigns include a new bus shelter and better access to the healthy living centre.

The group said: “The Wester Hailes Community Council is sad to announce that due to a lack of attendance at their recent meetings, they will be holding an Extraordinary General Meeting in the coming weeks to discuss the future of the community council including the possibility of dissolving the group.

“The Wester Hailes Community Council was founded in 2009 to represent residents of Murrayburn, Clovenstone, Westburn, Dumbryden, Calders, Hailesland and all other areas in Wester Hailes, aiming to fill the gap after the dissolution of the Wester Hailes Representative Council. We feel that it would be sad to see the group which has benefited the people of Wester Hailes for almost 10 years go and eagerly hope that another solution is found at the upcoming meeting.”
