VOTERS were today going to the polls in the Liberton/Gilmerton ward city council by-election.
Labour’s Keith Robson is being tipped to come out on top in the contest, prompted by the death of senior SNP councillor Tom Buchanan.
However, the Nationalists have insisted that they can still pip their coalition partners to the post.
Polling stations opened at 7am this morning and will close at 10pm, with the count due to take place tomorrow.
The Lib Dems, Tories, Greens and Ukip are all standing, alongside Pirate Party Scotland and one independent candidate.
