MSP wants march veto

Edinburgh Southern SNP MSP Jim Eadie has called on councillors to refuse permission for a march by the far-right Scottish Defence League (SDL) through the Capital on May 26.

He said: “Edinburgh has a worldwide reputation for hospitality and welcoming people from abroad. The pernicious poison of the SDL has no place in our capital city. It is unlikely that any march by this organisation can proceed without incident given the racist, homophobic, divisive and often provocative views it promotes.”
