Woman '˜pulled around by hair' during train station attack

A woman was seriously assaulted at Bathgate train station following a rock concert in Glasgow.

Officers said the 22-year-old victim was “forcefully pulled around the platform by her hair” during the attack.

They said that at around 12.15am on Tuesday, February 28, a large group of people had been on board a Helensburgh Central to Bathgate train after a Kings of Leon gig in Glasgow.

During the journey, there was an altercation between two female groups, which then continued onto the concourse at Bathgate.

Several people tried to intervene, which resulted in a number of men and women becoming involved in the altercation.

The victim sought hospital treatment following the incident.

The offender was white and of slim build, with long blonde hair. She is believed to be in her late twenties.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Claire McCombe said: “These people are grown adults and, needless to say, should not be behaving in this way.

“We will not accept violence in any form on the railway and so if you saw what happened, or know who the offender is, please get in touch.”
