Property firm dismisses Twitter rumours

A WELL-KNOWN property firm has offered assurances that it has not gone bust after rumours emerged on social networking website Twitter.

Various Twitter feeds linked to the Edinburgh University Student Union suggested Grant Management had gone under last week, sparking fears for residents already in their properties.

However, the firm – which is one of the largest in Scotland – said it had merely changed its name to Grant Property in a bid to move into the business premises market. Managing director Debbie Rummens told the Evening News that some properties the company had been managing for the Bank of Scotland had been transferred to a London-based firm, and that had possibly sparked rumours.
