Protesters back home

FIVE Scottish protesters have arrived at Waverley Station after staging a hunger strike and being deported from Israel.

The pro-Palestine campaigners had been in Tel Aviv on a humanitarian mission.

The group, who flew into Israel on Sunday, were held up at passport control and taken to Givon Prison’s immigration detention centre. They were deported after four days behind bars.

The campaigners were met with cheers as they stepped off a train from Manchester yesterday.
