A CITY centre pub is to be revamped after it was announced it was in line for a major industry award.

The Grosvenor Pub, on Shandwick Place, will close on April 10 for a 12-day refurbishment that will see the addition of a new fitted bar and menu.

The pub is due to reopen on April 22, when it will receive a Taylor Walker badge.

Taylor Walker is a brand from the Spirit Pub Company and aims to recognise the unique qualities of traditional British pubs.

Grosvenor general manager Izzy Polson said: “This is a fantastic new era for the pub.To receive the Taylor Walker badge is an acknowledgement of the traditional look and feel of our pub creating the essence of a Great British pub.”

She added: “I’m on the look out for bright, passionate and enthusiastic individuals that enjoy working in a team.”
