Pupil, 17, charged after ‘teacher attacked at prom’

A PUPIL has been charged after a teacher was allegedly attacked during a school prom.

The incident happened at the Houston House Hotel in Uphall on Friday, where pupils from St Margaret’s Academy in Livingston had gathered.

The male teacher is understood to have been left with serious facial injuries as a result of the alleged attack.

West Lothian Council said it was aware of the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We can confirm a 17-year-old man was detained and charged with assault after an altercation at Houston House Hotel. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
