Pupils fired up by event

A GROUP of West Lothian pupils joined firefighters at Livingston Fire Station for a “Cooldown Crew” event.

The Bathgate Academy pupils were taught firefighting drills, as well as being given lessons on fire safety and the dangers of hoax calls and wilful fireraising.

The 100th event was led by David Rowley, watch commander youth service. At the end, the youngsters were given certificates by councillor Ellen Glass, vice convener of Lothian and Borders Fire Board.
