Ratho climb arena holds the heights

The climbing arena at Ratho has retained the highest grade a visitor attraction can achieve.

The Edinburgh International Climbing Arena (EICA) has been given five stars by VisitScotland for a fourth year in a row.

Tourism agency Visit- Scotland made the award following an unannounced visit to the venue earlier this month.

Inspectors praised the high standard of tuition, customer service and catering, with consistently high scores across all areas of the grading system.

EICA manager Jo Mathieson said: “We are delighted to have our five-star visitor attraction status confirmed by VisitScotland and feel it is a well-deserved accolade for all the hard work and dedication of the staff at the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena.

“It’s particularly encouraging to retain this status for the fourth consecutive year and we look forward to maintaining these high standards.”

Councillor Deidre Brock, the city’s culture and leisure leader, said: “Many congratulations to the EICA staff, whose commitment and passion have ensured that centre users continue to enjoy first-class customer service.”
