Reaching out to freshers

A CLINIC in Edinburgh has drawn up a checklist to help new students cope with the challenges of leaving home.

The Priory, on St Andrew Square, said it was an important point in the life of teenagers. Warning signs of not coping include becoming negative and having a fear of socialising.

Priory specialist Dr Ian Drever said: “The image is that [teenagers] immediately become immersed in a social whirl. However, it can be quite the opposite.”
