'˜Reckless' laser attack on commercial plane over Musselburgh

POLICE in East Lothian are appealing for information following a laser being directed at a plane.

Shortly after 9pm on Wednesday 27 January, a green laser light was directed at the cockpit of a commerical flight to Edinburgh Airport.

The source of the laser was near to the north side of the racetrack in Musselburgh.

Sergeant Laura White said: “Thankfully, the laser didn’t affect the Captain’s vision but this was an extremely reckless act which could have had very serious consequences.

“We’re conducting enquiries in the local area in an effort to trace the perpetrator and would ask anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour, or has information which can assist with the ongoing enquiry, to get in touch.”
