Remploy staff unite to fight factory axe

CAMPAIGNERS took to the streets to protest against the closure of Remploy factories.

Edinburgh’s Remploy employs 28 staff, 27 of whom are disabled.

Many gathered in the Grassmarket yesterday to fight the UK Government’s decision to cut funding.

One disabled worker, who asked not be named, said: “I have been working at the Edinburgh factory for the last five years and my world has been turned upside down since they said it will be closed.”
