Residents back council

NINE out of ten East Lothian residents are satisfied with how their council is performing, a new survey has revealed.

The poll shows that 71 per cent of respondents believe East Lothian Council provides good value for money – a significant rise on the 48 per cent figure recorded in 2009.

Councillor Paul McLennan, East Lothian Council leader, said: “While satisfaction with the way the council is managing the area has increased significantly since our last poll, we are by no means complacent. We recognise that there are areas of real concern for local people that we will need to address.”
