Retailers look to bag stores

RETAILERS continue to vie for large units in George Street, property agents say.

Recent arrivals in the upmarket shopping street include women’s clothing brand Anthropologie, shirtmaker Charles Tyrwhitt and an expanded Austin Reed outlet.

James Godfrey, a partner at property firm Culverwell, said: “There is no doubt there is now a lot of demand for the big spaces on George Street. Most of these companies are new names for the city, which is great news.”
