Reuse project up for award

A PROJECT that encourages people to reuse materials and equipment is in the running for a national funding award.

Remade in Edinburgh is an attempt to move away from the “culture of cheap disposable items” and instead encourage people to fix and modify items.

The project is one of three on the shortlist for a £1010 prize from the 10:10 environmental campaign. The deadline for votes to be cast at www.1010global.org is Monday.

It is up against a one-stop shop for local advice in Barnet and a campaign to make the NHS use environmentally-friendly dialysis machines.
