Rifkind hails Fraser plans

SIR Malcolm Rifkind today said the Conservative party would “be letting Scotland down” if it failed to back Murdo Fraser in the Scottish leadership contest.

The Edinburgh MP said: “Scotland needs a strong centre-right party, and I just don’t think we would be letting ourselves down. We would be letting Scotland down. In Murdo Fraser, we have an individual who has had the courage to put forward what to some will be unpopular, but that is what leadership is all about.”
