Robbery days after release

A REPEAT offender who forced a student to take him to his home to rob him of computers within days of his early release from prison has been jailed for four years.

Nicolas Wynne, 22, was freed in May 13 this year from a 32 month jail sentence for robbery and assault with intent to rob which was due to expire in September next year.

But on May 30 he and an accomplice mugged a terrified 21-year-old man in Elm Row before he robbed the student at his home in Antigua Street three days later.

A judge told Wynne at the High Court in Edinburgh: “Clearly there is no alternative to a significant custodial sentence.”
