Rockling happy as Barry in his new home

A STAR attraction at the Scottish Seabird Centre has been transferred to Scotland’s national aquarium, Deep Sea World.

Barry the three-bearded rockling has been popular with visitors in the main aquarium of the Discovery Centre. But he has now outgrown his tank and was proving unpopular with the new marine wildlife that has been introduced to the tank.

Following a phone call to Deep Sea World, their expert team popped over to North Berwick and Barry is now settling in well to his new home in North Queensferry.

Paul Nixon, Discovery Centre Manager, Scottish Seabird Centre, said: “Barry was donated to us a year ago by a local fisherman who found him in his lobster pot.

“Over the last year he has started to outgrow his tank so it was the right thing to do to donate to our friends at Deep Sea World.”
