Safety drive to halt terror attack horror

ANTI-terrorism workshops designed to protect the Capital against major attacks have been held by police chiefs.

Representatives of public and private organisations attended the workshops, which were hosted at Standard Life House yesterday as part of Edinburgh Community Resilience Week.

The first workshop, Project Griffin, encouraged members of the community to work with the police to deter and detect terrorist activity and crime.

The second, Project Argus, was aimed at preventing, handling and recovering from a terrorist attack.

Representatives were taken through a simulated attack allowing them to discuss issues and share good practice.

Superintendent Donnie Mackinnon said: “These workshops equip individuals and organisations with the knowledge required to make Edinburgh a safer place.”
