Sally Army calls for a fairer world
The Salvation Army held its international ROOTS conference in Scotland over the weekend, at Edinburgh International Climbing Arena in Ratho – the first time it has been here.
The Salvation Army’s world leader, General Linda Bond, shared her vision of how people can actively seek to improve communities so that everyone has equal rights and opportunities.

Hide AdLieutenant Colonel Alan Burns, Scotland secretary, said: “The Salvation Army demonstrates our belief by changing people’s lives within communities.
“ROOTS Scotland saw hundreds of our members from across the country being challenged to take action and help people living in poverty.
“They were also asked to see how we can change the minds of those within the broader society on issues of social justice, so that everyone can play their part.”
The ROOTS event has taken place in Southport for many years.
