A SALON in the Capital has been crowned top dog at a national awards ceremony for its canine-friendly

Hair by JFK, which has two branches at South Clerk Street and Bruntsfield Place, impressed judges at the Kennel Club Open for Dogs Awards with its innovative and glamorous approach to dogs and won the Special Recognition category.

The award-winning salon has a Dog of the Month award, a Doggy Wall and sells dog tags on site.

A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of dog tags go to the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home.

Co-owner Karen Brown said: “The whole team is absolutely delighted to have won this award because dogs are such a big part of our lives. We’re all dog crazy.”
