Salute for volunteers

VOLUNTEERS are to be honoured for their services to a charity.

Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) will recognise its helpers during National Volunteers Week, which coincides with the diamond jubilee week of the Queen, the charity’s patron.

CHSS has estimated that volunteers, who will be commemorated in a special booklet, give an annual total of 48,000 hours to fundraising efforts.

Lucy Bowman, a volunteer coordinator, said: “Our volunteers are really precious to us.”
