School duo in 24-hour cycle

A TEACHER and pupil from Currie Community High School are set to embark on a 24-hour bike ride from John O’Groats to Edinburgh Castle, covering 280 miles on just two wheels.

Teenager Adrian Clark and deputy headteacher Lewis Paterson will set off on Wednesday at 8am, finishing 24 hours later at Edinburgh Castle promenade.

The gruelling challenge will raise money for the Edinburgh-based 500 Miles charity, which supports amputees and disabled people in Malawi and Zambia. It was after a visit from the charity’s chief executive, Olivia Giles, that the idea came to the cyclists.
