School makes cycling grade

BONNYRIGG Primary School has won a national award for encouraging pupils to take their bikes and scooters to school.

Schools must show that there is suitable cycle parking for pupils, staff and visitors as well as good changing facilities and plenty of incentives to get pupils on their bikes.

At Bonnyrigg Primary there is a cycle repair kit for pupils, information on safe routes to school, and plenty of signs encouraging bike use. Primary six pupils can also participate in the Scottish Cycle Training Scheme.
