Schools in prizes hunt

Four Capital schools have been selected as finalists at this year’s Scottish Education Awards.

Stenhouse Primary is in the running for the Gaelic Language and Culture in Learning Award, while Woodlands Secondary has been shortlisted for the Enterprise and Employability Across Learning Award.

Trinity Academy is going for the Global Citizenship Award, and Gracemount High School is represented by Ashleigh Kennedy, who is up for Probationary Teacher of the Year. History teacher Ms Kennedy has been described as an inspiration to staff, pupils and parents.

The awards ceremony will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow on June 12.
