THE Scottish Government is to call for a Neo-Nazi thrash metal group to be refused entry to the UK.

Cabinet Secretary for Justice Michael Matheson said he would do all he could to stop Bound for Glory from “bringing their hatred to Scotland”.

The Evening News reported how the American band - one of the oldest and best known on the Nazi music scene - was preparing to play a secret gig in the Lothians next weekend.

On Twitter Mr Matheson said: “I am considering every option open to stop violent neo nazi band Bound for Glory bringing their hatred to Scotland.”

He later released a further statement in which he said: “The best approach would be to refuse this band entry to the UK and I will be writing to the Home Secretary to ask that she consider this.

“I have also asked the Chief Constable to consider with partners powers available to stop this event happening. There is no place for hatred of this kind in Scotland.”
