Mr Anderson, who joined the Scottish Salmon Company in 2013, is a finalist for Director of the Year of a business with a turnover over £15 million, as well as the Edinburgh, Lothians and the Borders Director of the Year award.

The awards celebrate the crème de la crème of business leaders in Scotland and applaud individuals whose creativity, leadership and responsible business practices have led to success for their organisation and the Scottish community.

Mr Anderson said: “I am humbled to have been shortlisted for such a prestigious award and to be named alongside such exemplary business figures.

“The Scottish Salmon Company is really proud of the role it plays in supporting the Scottish economy and the remote and rural communities in which it operates.

“The business has had a transformational last few years and is now very much a thriving food business, with our ethos of pride, passion and provenance still very much at the heart of the company.”

In total, 42 Scottish business leaders have successfully reached the final stages of the competition and will compete across nine main categories and six regional categories.

David Watt, executive director of the Institute of Directors Scotland, said: “Quality leadership is the very definition of success within our businesses, civic institutions and third sector organisations, and for the Director of the Year Awards we will celebrate the very best of Scotland’s directors – the inspirers, visionaries, innovators and strategists that make Scottish businesses prosper.”

The awards take place at Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza Hotel on Thursday, March 17.

Last year, the Scottish Salmon Company claimed honours at the annual Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards.

It was crowned Business of the Year, with Mr Anderson and his team also picking up the Export Business of the Year award.
