campaigners and politicians have joined together to tell far-right group the Scottish Defence League it is not welcome in Edinburgh.

Councillors, MSPs and student activists joined other anti-extremist campaigners yesterday to publicly condemn the group, which plans to hold a march in the Capital next month.

MSP Malcolm Chisholm said: “We treasure freedom of speech but we draw the line at speech directed against members of the community – this is racist and fascist. A line must be drawn and this march would be well over that line.”
