A SELF defence seminar for women has been set up in aid of Edinburgh Moonwalk.

Fife Kickboxing and Self Defence Academy is running a three-hour ladies personal safety seminar, giving women the chance to learn a personal defence readiness system (PDRS) of self-defence and so increase their personal and family safety.

The course is open to women only, and organisers said it would be particularly useful for those participating in the Moonwalk this year.

PDRS is unique in that it gives people the physical tools and, more importantly, the mental strength and self- confidence they need to deal with any stressful experiences they may encounter.

A place on the course costs £20, and organisers said they would be donating all of the proceeds to the Moonwalk charity.

Breast cancer charity Walk the Walk’s annual fundraiser will once again see thousands of women take to the streets of the Capital in brightly decorated bras – on June 9 – for the popular overnight fundraising walk, which will start in Inverleith Park.
