Sleep out set to raise funds for homeless

BUSINESS executives are to raise money for charity by spending the night sleeping on the streets of the Capital.

The Bethany Big Sleep Out, organised by the Bethany Trust, will see staff from Peter Vardy sleeping outside tonight as they aim to raise £5000 for homeless charities.

More than 20 staff from the company – one Scotland’s biggest car dealerships – will take part in the event at the City Chambers.

Euan Cameron, head of marketing at Peter Vardy, said: “We’ve all got our sleeping bags and thermals at the ready to raise as much money as we can for the trust.

“Many of us here are doing this for the third time and so we know it’s going to be a challenging night, especially with the clear weather we’ve had recently.

“However, giving something back to the community and to those in need is something that’s very important to us as a company.

“If we can help raise money by sleeping rough for just one night then it’s the least we can do.”
