SKIING fans are being encouraged to head along to Hillend this weekend for a major championships.

The Midlothian Snowsports Centre at Hillend is hosting the prestigious British Dry Slope Ski Championships on September 24 and 25.

More than 100 top competitors are expected to compete at the event on the slope.

The championships, a major event in the snowsports calendar, is an exciting occasionfor participants and spectators alike.

The Snowsports Centre is home to the longest artificial ski slope in the UK, making it an excellent host for the event.

The event features a Slalom competition on the Saturday, while the Giant Slalom takes place on the Sunday.
