Speaking out for the poor

The vice-president of a group which helps poor people in South Africa is set to speak in the Capital tonight.

Lindela Figlan of the Shack Dwellers Movement is due to talk about the humanity issues facing millions in the country.

The movement, known locally as Abahlali baseMjondolo, began in 2005 and has grown to become the largest militant poor people’s organisation in South Africa.

Entry is free at Pilrig St Paul’s Church and begins at 7pm.
