Stalking victims urged to speak up

POLICE chiefs today urged the victims of stalkers in the Lothians to come forward in the wake of Frank Moore’s campaign of terror against his two victims.

The government created the offence of engaging in threatening, alarming or distressing behaviour, including harassment over the web or by text message, in December.

Detective Superintendent Allan Jones said: “Lynsey Methven and Stewart Taylor were the victims of stalking and Frank Moore’s behaviour escalated into these horrendous attacks.

“There is legislation in place to protect stalking victims and we would ask anyone who has suffered in this way to contact police.”

Stalking victims can contact police directly, or a complaint can be made through a third party at www.lbp.police.uk/takecontrol/index.asp
