Store boss’s climb to top

A SHOP manager from the Capital has reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro – despite having never even been camping before the adventure.

Tom Doyle, boss at Tesco Edinburgh Homeplus, raised £4200 for Alzheimer Scotland as he and 22 colleagues scaled Africa’s tallest mountain, which took seven days.

He said: “It was made all the better because of the people I was trekking with, and the fact we were raising so much money for such a fantastic cause.

“My favourite part was just getting to the top and hugging everyone in the team – it was a feeling of utter elation.”
