A FROSTY snowman and an abstract masterpiece have been named as the two winners in the Edinburgh schools Christmas card competition.

Oliwia Horodko, from Granton Primary School, produced this cheerful depiction of a happy snowman, while her co-winner, Sam McLean from St Crispin’s Special School, created this winter scene.

Both will be made into Christmas cards and e-cards and feature in all official correspondence and festive messages sent by city council education officials.

Pupils across primaries and secondaries took part in the competition, depicting Santas, snow-covered villages and Christmas trees.
