Supermarket dream for site
COUNCIL bosses want to sell land in the west of Edinburgh to pave the way for construction of a new supermarket and flats.
The council hopes to net £140,000 from sale of land at West Gorgie Place to developer West Register Realisation Ltd.
The developer – a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Scotland – has planning consent, subject to conditions on parking availability, for a mixed supermarket and housing development.
The development would be built on the sites of the former Fruit Market and Co-op.
