A TEENAGER told a jury that a man she met in a fish and chip shop raped her in a stairwell less than two hours later.

The 19-year-old mum, who can’t be named for legal reasons, said she had gone to the Broughton Street “chippy” after a birthday night out with friends.

A jury at the High Court in Livingston was shown a video in which the woman chats to Griffith John Hemming, 37, in the chip shop then kisses him before being led out of the shop by him.

Hemming, currently a prisoner at Saughton, denies sexually assaulting and repeatedly raping the woman on January 11, 2012.

He has lodged a special defence that the woman consented to have sex with him.

The woman told the court today that she ended up with Hemming in the stairwell of a block of flats in Annandale Street.

She said: “We ended up having sex on the stair, but I told him to stop and I told him to f*** off.

“When you’re drunk and you’re inside and you go outside, it’s worse. It’s just I didn’t want it to happen.”

The trial continues.
