Tennis stars come to Capital

Promising wheelchair tennis players are competing in Edinburgh this weekend, as the Tennis Foundation’s development series kicks off.

Winning Wheels, a tennis club based at the Craiglockhart Tennis Centre, is hosting the event, which is the first of ten to be held across the country.

Defending champion Keith Thom, from Dumfries, is looking to regain his crown in a competition which will come to a close in December in Preston.

Becky Tilley, competition and events manager at the Tennis Foundation, said: “With over 70 participants last year we are hoping that more players are attracted to participate in the development series in 2012.”
