THREE unusual cockerels were discovered outside a Scottish community centre in a chicken coop, it was revealed today.

The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after the three polish birds were discovered in the chicken enclosure outside Hawkhill Community Centre in Alloa on Monday 11 August.

The birds were then taken to the Edinburgh and Lothians Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Balerno, where they have been affectionately nicknamed Leroy, Leon and Lennox.

Animal Rescue Officer Lindsay Kerr said: “Leroy, Leon and Lennox are Polish cockerels and rather unusual looking.

“They are quite young birds and despite being slightly lean, are all generally in good condition.

“They were found inside a chicken coop which is kept outside the community centre and already has several chickens residing there.

“At this point we can’t be sure if the birds were deliberately abandoned.

“It’s possible they have escaped from home and someone found them and put them there, so we are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

“If it turns out the cockerels have been abandoned, we’ll find them suitable new homes.”
