Time’s up for faulty clocks
The hi-tech wall clocks – designed to be accurate to one millisecond – were bought for West Lothian Civic Centre.
But it has emerged that the radio-controlled time code signals transmitted by satellite couldn’t get through the thick walls of courtrooms.

Hide AdThe original “smart” clocks have been replaced by ones costing just £15 each.
A West Lothian Council spokesman said: “There was an issue with several clocks in the courts not working properly.
“The clocks were installed when the building first opened in 2009 and the problem has been resolved by installing six new clocks.”
